John Coltrane – Handwritten Musical Manuscript
A rare John Coltrane handwritten musical manuscript. Written in the 1950's by Coltrane, it features a six bar arrangement for saxophone, on a sheet of 12 1/2" x 16" musical folio paper. Coltrane has drawn a cube in the upper right hand corner, surrounded by wavy lines (a number or his manuscripts have doodles like this.) This was one of a group of Coltrane's handwritten scores were sold by his family at the Guernsey's 2005 Jazz Auction in New York. These were the first Coltrane manuscripts ever sold on the public markets–and probably the last. Musical manuscripts written by jazz giant Coltrane are rare indeed. Also included is an 8" x 10" color photograph of Coltrane, suitable for framing with the manuscript. The copyright stamp of Coltrane's music publishing company, Jowcol Music is on the reverse side. As with everything we offer, guaranteed authentic with no time limit. This is the last Coltrane manuscript we have for sale.
