John Coltrane – Original Jim Marshall Photograph with Studio Stamp

An original silver gelatin photographic print of John Coltrane taken by legendary rock photographer Jim Marshall. This shot was taken at Rudy Van Gelder’s studio in New York, with Coltrane listening to the playback of “Nancy With The Laughing Face” in 1963. The print is in mint condition and measures 5″ x 7″ and is in mint condition, complete with Marshall’s hand-numbered studio stamp on the back.

The late Jim Marshall was one of the most highly acclaimed music photographers ever; he was the chief photographer at Woodstock, the only photographer allowed backstage at the Beatles last concert, and shot legendary photographs of Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones Johnny Cash, and many other music legends. His photographs adorn more than 500 album covers including the Allman Brothers “At The Fillmore East” and the Jefferson Airplane’s Volunteers.
