A 1980 German first pressing of Joy Division’s album Closer, from the archive of the late Joy Division/New Order manager, Rob Gretton (1953-1999).

The album is housed in a clear outer sleeve with a label written by the Rob Gretton Collection archivist, reading:

Joy Division. Closer. West German issue on Metronome Musik, Cat no 0060.361, standard issue design sleeve on sheen card with added cat details with thin paper inner sleeve, 1980

This was part of Gretton’s personal collection, and we obtained it directly from Gretton’s partner, Lesley Gilbert. Our accompanying letter of authenticity will note this extraordinary provenance.
