A very rare concert poster advertising a show by Joy Divison at The Factory in Manchester, England on July 13, 1979.  The poster features art by noted music writer, cultural critic and Joy Division associate Jon Savage;  Savage’s oral history of Joy Division, The Searing Light, The Sun and Everything Else was released in April 2019.  At our request Savage has hand-signed the poster in the lower right corner.

This concert was Joy Division’s first show in their hometown of Manchester after the release of their debut album, Unknown Pleasures.  We acquired this poster from the archive of the late Joy Division/New Order manager Rob Gretton; it is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from his partner Lesley Gilbert noting its provenance from the Rob Gretton archive. In near mint unused condition. 17″ x 25″.
