K.C. Douglas – Near Mint 1956 LP ‘A Dead-Beat Guitar & The Mississippi Blues’
A beautiful first pressing of the ultra rare 1956 blues album by K.C. Douglas A Dead Beat Guitar & The Mississippi Blues, on Cook Records. This is the only copy we’ve ever had of this super scarce (and excellent) blues album.
The fragile cover is in Near Mint condition, with the only minor distractions being two very soft and barely noticeable creases to the bottom corners, and “K.C. Douglas” written very small and neatly along the right edge of the back cover. As this album never had a printed spine, this almost certainly was done by the original owner so they’d know what the album was without pulling it out of their shelf.
The thick deep groove disc looks as if it’s been played no more than a few times, there is no wear and only one tiny spindle mark on one label; we’ll grade it EX++, just because there is a minimal amount of very superficial handling marks likely from the pressing plant. As clean a copy as you’re likely to find of this 64 year old LP!
