King Crimson – 1971 British Concert Poster

SOLD- A very rare 1971 poster advertising King Crimson in concert at Fairfield Hall in Croydon, London, England. This poster, dating from the era of Crimson's third album, Lizard, advertises one of their first shows with the Robert Fripp/Pete Sinfield/Boz Burrell/Ian Wallace/Mel Collins lineup (who played their first date 6 weeks earlier.) The opening act, mentioned in the bottom left corner, is Roger Ruskin Spear and His Giant Kinetic Wardrobe (ex-Bonzo Dog Band.) The poster, featuring a photo of the band, measures a very large 31" x 39 1/2." It is in very good condition, with some minor color loss along three horizontal folds. As it is on very thin paper, we have had it archivally backed on rice paper (which is completely reversable.) There is a small edge tear with a bit of missing paper on the bottom edge, that is barely visible because of the paper backing. The only example we have ever seen of this rare and very impressive poster (in fact the only King Crimson concert poster with a photo that we've ever seen.)
