A scarce Lou Reed promotional poster issued in late 1972 by RCA Records just prior to the November 1972 release of his breakthrough solo album Transformer.

The front of the poster is a live shot of Lou, and reproduces his humorous/sarcastic handwritten biography.  Some highlights:

‘I played in Long Island hoodlum bands where there were fights…expelled from ROTC for threatening to shoot officer…rejected from army-deemed mentally unfit…worked with Warhol and Velvet Underground through various permutations + helped create earlier ‘mixed media environment’ also known in happy sixties as ‘psychedelic’…left Warhol, realigned band + ultimately realigned self…Exile + great pondering…Lawsuits + depression…RCA, solo albums, satisfaction’.

The back reproduces various interviews with Lou, dating from just prior to the release of Transformer.

17″ x 33 1/2″, in Near Mint condition, with machine folds as originally issued.
