Lou Reed and John Cale – ‘Songs for ‘Drella’ St. Ann’s Premiere Program, BAM Program, Ticket Stub, VIP Party Invite + Tokyo Programs (Velvet Underground)
A collection of items from Lou Reed and John Cale’s Andy Warhol tribute, Songs For Drella (The title borrows John and Lou’s affectionate nickname for Warhol — a combination of Dracula and Cinderella.)
Included is a fold-open program from the first performances, subtitled (A Work in Progress), on January 7 & 8, 1989 at St. Ann’s in Brooklyn Heights, a program from the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s premiere of the finished work, from November 29-December 3, 1989, a program insert with the Drella song list, a ticket stub from the December 3 performance, an unused ticket for the private ‘Drella Celebration’ following the November 29 performance, and a deluxe program from the August 6, 1990 Tokyo performance.
Each of the items is in excellent condition. A scarce set of Velvet Underground related collectibles.
