LSD – Albert Hoffman & Stanislav Grof Signed Ltd. Edition Book ‘LSD, My Problem Child’ / #30/100

A mint condition signed limited edition of LSD: My Problem Child/Reflections on Sacred Drugs, Mysticism and Science by Albert Hofmann, Ph.D., the Swiss chemist who first synthesized and ingested LSD.

This is #30 of 100 numbered copies, signed on the title page by Albert Hofmann (1906-2008) and Stanislav Grof (1931-), one of the principal developers of transpersonal psychology, famed for his research into LSD and alternate states of consciousness.  Grof wrote the forward of this 2005 edition, published to mark Hofmann’s 100th birthday.

Hofmann writes of his meetings with Aldous Huxley, Timothy Leary, R. Gordon Wasson and others, and a description of his first acid trip (April 16, 1943): “… affected by a remarkable restlessness, combined with a slight dizziness. At home I lay down and sank into a not unpleasant intoxicated-like condition, characterized by an extremely stimulated imagination. In a dreamlike state, with eyes closed (I found the daylight to be unpleasantly glaring), I perceived an uninterrupted stream of fantastic pictures, extraordinary shapes with intense, kaleidoscopic play of colors. After some two hours this condition faded away.”

Also included is a four panel leaflet/registration form from the International Symposium LSD: Problem Child and Wonder Drug held in Basil, on the occasion of Hofmann’s 100th birthday.

Book and leaflet both in Mint, as new condition.  A rare signed edition of one of the most important autobiographies in the history of drug literature.
