Miles Davis – Original Watercolor Painting
A stunning watercolor painting by Jazz great Miles Davis. Davis began drawing and painting seriously in 1979, reportedly at the same time he was coming off drugs. He quickly became serious about his art, sketching compulsively, then beginning to work in watercolor and oils, and by the late 80’s was exhibiting his work around the world. This watercolor is the finest Davis work we have seen, unusual in its sophistication and refinement. Davis gifted it to an employee during the 80’s, and we acquired it in the early 2000’s, selling it to a private collector. We recently were able to repurchase it, and are are pleased to offer it once again. The painting is signed in the lower right corner, and measures 13″ x 18 1/2. It has been beautifully and archivally framed to 20 3/4″ x 27 1/2″ x 1 7/8 (there is a tiny ding to the top left corner of the frame, visible in the photograph.) An unusual opportunity to acquire an original–and wonderful–painting by one of the true giants of Jazz, and a celebrated artist in his own right. As with everything we offer, this is guaranteed authentic without time limit. Note: The shipping costs included are estimates; this will be shipped at the actual cost (as this is large and fragile, it will be costly to ship.)
