Monterey Pop Festival – 1967 Program With Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who, Grateful Dead

An original program sold at the legendary Monterey Pop Festival, Monterey Fairgrounds, June 16-18, 1967.  This perfect bound book is filled with full color ads, illustrations, photographs, and much editorial about the concert from the most important rock festival ever. Full pages are devoted to Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Simon & Garfunkel, Donovan, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and many more (the last two didn’t appear.) Also included is a full page with artwork by the Beatles, created specially for the program.  A wonderful and unique artifact of this all important concert, at which Jimi Hendrix played his first US show, The Who made their first West Coast appearance, Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin were signed to Columbia Records, Buffalo Springfield appeared with David Crosby substituting for Neil Young, etc. In excellent condition throughout.
