Monterey Pop Festival – Original festival concert program
An original program sold at the legendary Monterey Pop Festival, Monterey Fairgrounds, 1967; perfect bound book with full color ads, illustrations, photographs, much editorial about the concert from the most important rock festival ever. Full pages featuring Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Simon & Garfunkel, Donovan, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones (the last two didn't appear) and many more. Also includes a full page artwork by the Beatles made specially for the program (illustrated in the third scan here.) A wonderful and unique artifact of this all important concert, where Jimi Hendrix played his first US show, The Who their first West Coast appearance, Big Brother featuring Janis Joplin were signed to Columbia Records, Buffalo Springfield appeared with David Crosby substituting for Neil Young, etc. In superb mint condition–one of the best we've ever seen.
