Monterey Pop Festival – Unused Concert Ticket
An unused ticket for the second day of the Monterey International Pop Festival, arguably the most important rock concert of all time. This ticket admitted the bearer to the second of 5 concerts making up the festival, featuring Canned Heat, Big Brother (with Janis Joplin,) Country Joe & The Fish, Al Kooper, the Butterfield Blues Band, Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Steve Miller Band and the Electric Flag. This ticket came from the collection of legendary music critic Ralph J. Gleason. Gleason along with Bill Graham was very involved with the Festival, and they are credited with convincing the San Francisco bands to participate. In mint condition, with the original ticket envelope too. Very rare.
