Neil Young – Ultra Rare “Decade” Test Pressing w/Unreleased Version of “Campaigner”
A very rare 3 LP test pressing of the cancelled original version of Neil Young’s album Decade, with the unreleased 4:19 version of “Campaigner.” Decade, Young’s first compilation album (which included new and previously unreleased tracks) was originally scheduled for release on October 26, 1976. For unknown reasons, after test pressings were made Young changed his mind and postponed the release of the album a full year (it was ultimately released on October 28, 1977.) He also deleted a full verse from the previously unreleased “Campaigner” (the released version has three verses, the original four.) This three disc test pressing of the original Decade is dated September 27, 1976 and lists the original October 26, 1976 release date. Disc three features the original uncut 4:19 “Campaigner;” by the time the album was released a year later, the song had been edited down to 3:30. In original generic sleeves with notations, each with tracking sheets. Discs all Mint to Near Mint.
