Nico – Velvet Underground – Original 1968 Elektra Records Tax Form

A very rare Elektra Records 1099 Tax Form issued to Nico in 1968, for "rents and royalties." This is a document issued by all employers in the US, and used to calculate taxes owed in a given year. Nico's album for Elektra, The Marble Index, was recorded in 1968 and released in 1969; so the royalties of $1480. paid to her in 1968 would have been her for her recording "advance" (the amount she was paid on signing to the label.) This document was sent by Elektra directly to Nico in New York; it is addressed to Nico Paeffgen (her given name was Christa Paffgen.) Included is the original Elektra envelope in which it was sent, postmarked Feb 18, 1969. This is the original, unique document Nico received. A truly rare Velvet Underground/Nico collectible. SOLD
