Nirvana – Arm From In Utero Tour Angel Figure

A fiberglass arm from one of the two life-sized Angel figures that appeared on stage during Nirvana’s 1993-1994 ‘In Utero’ world tour. The Angels, biological models similar to the one on the ‘In Utero’ album cover, appeared on stage during all the shows on the tour, as well as in numerous Nirvana television appearances. As detailed in the two accompanying letters of authenticity, Nirvana’s tour equipment and crew were stranded in the Czech Republic for a time after Kurt’s death. The equipment and stage sets were eventually sent back to America, and for a few months, sat packed in trucks at the offices of Proshow USA, the Washington company that provided concert production services for Nirvana. When Cobain’s estate finally allowed the two surviving members of the band to get what they wanted, Nirvana bassist Krist Novaselic took the bodies of the two Angels, but for some reason left this arm behind. After the band had taken what they wanted, a friend of Proshow’s owner was given this arm, which otherwise would have been discarded. The arm measures 24′ in length and is in very good condition. The two Angel figures (without arms) have been exhibited at Seattle’s Experience Music Project as a part of their Nirvana exhibit; an image of the armless Angels appears here. Included is a beautiful 20′ x 26′ custom ink-jet print of Kurt Cobain standing in front of one of the Angels with the appropriate arm visible, perfect for framing with the arm. With letters of authenticity from the president of Proshow USA, and the individual who was given the arm in 1994; as well as Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity. An extraordinary Nirvana collectible.
