Nirvana – In Utero Tour Stage Prop Tree
A concert-used handmade fiberglass tree used as a stage prop during Nirvana’s 1993-94 “In Utero” world tour. This was the top portion of one of two trees used during the entire tour; it can be seen in many photos and videos (including the 10″ x 17″ print included here; it’s above Krist Novaselic’s shoulder.) It is 4’9″ tall, 5’6″ wide and 1′ wide. Having been used so extensively, it has many dings, and some repairs on the back, but is extremely impressive in person. This is accompanied by two letters of authenticity, including one from Michael Fisher, president of Proshow USA, which reads in part “My company, Proshow USA provided concert audio production services for Nirvana in the early days. The last tour was in Europe when everything went wrong. Our crew and edquipment were actually stranded in Prague for a time after Kurt’s death. The tour equipment (including the stage sets) had to be sent back and then actually sat parked in trucks…until the estate would allow the remaining members of the band to come and get what they wanted.” He goes on to explain that he took this tree from a pile of discards, and kept in in his warehouse, and later gave this one to a friend, who’s letter of authenticity is also included. A unique Nirvana collectible with perfect provenance. Note: as this is quite large, it will need to be packed and shipped by a third party, at the purchaser’s expense.
