Nirvana – Unplayed 1991 DGC Promotional 1st Pressing ‘Nevermind’ LP / Mint Condition
An exceptional and seemingly unplayed promotional first pressing of Nirvana’s 1991 masterpiece Nevermind, on DGC Records.
The disc, with the earliest matrix numbers, shows no sign of ever having been played, with no spindle marks and a brand new playing surface. The cover, with a gold ‘For Promotional Only’ stamp on the back, is in strong near mint condition. There is a very faint crease and bit of wear to the tip of the bottom right corner, a bit of very light wear to the spine, and a vertical light scratch through some of the baby’s head and torso. As the close up photos show, none of these are significant distractions. The original innersleeve is in near mint minus condition, with some minor handling and a insertion crease to the top right corner.
Prices for clean first pressings of Nevermind have been rising exponentially during the past few years; a less desirable non-promotional copy recently sold for $3500.
A superb ‘final upgrade’ example.
