Otis Redding – Superbly Signed 1966 UK 1st Pressing “The Soul Album” LP

A 1966 UK first pressing of Otis Redding’s  The Soul Album, beautifully signed on the back cover ‘Otis Redding/Respect’.  Redding autographs are scarce; he died in 1967 at age 26., Because few autograph seekers in the 1960’s carried around LP’s, Redding signed albums are virtually non-existent.  This album was signed for an English disc jockey during his 1967 UK tour.

This example is extraordinary; the cover is in superb Near Mint condition, and Redding’s autograph is bold, clear, and includes the title of one of his iconic songs, “Respect” (later famously covered by Aretha Franklin).  The original mono disc is included, in Near Mint condition (with some ripple lines on Side 2, from being stored in poly-lined innersleeve for 52 years.)

This signed album has been authenticated by music autograph expert Roger Epperson; his letter of authenticity is included, along with Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.  One of only three signed Redding albums we’ve seen in over 45 years of looking.
