Paul Simon – 1965 Solo Concert Ticket

A rare ticket for Paul Simon’s show in August, 1965 at the Red Lion pub in London. After the initial failure of Simon & Garfunkel’s debut album, “Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.”, Simon traveled to England to play solo shows in small clubs and in this case, a pub. While there he recorded his first solo album, “The Paul Simon Songbook” which was released in August, 1965–coincidentally when this show took place. While Simon was out of the country, legendary producer Tom Wilson overdubbed electric instruments over the acoustic track “The Sounds of Silence,” and it subsequently became a huge hit. Simon returned to the US, reunited with Art Garfunkel, and as they say the rest is history. This ticket captures Simon just as his first solo album was released, and just before he hit the big time. 3″ x 4 1/2″, in excellent condition.
