Paul Weller – Owned and Worn Liberty Print Shirt

A red print shirt by Liberty, owned and worn by Jam and Style Council founder Paul Weller. This shirt was given by Weller to his former best friend and biographer, UK writer Paolo Hewitt. As Hewitt describes in his letter of provenance, he met Weller in 1975 in their mutual home town, Woking, Surrey and they became close friends. Hewitt wrote extensively about Weller and his bands, and the mod and punk scenes in Melody Maker and New Musical Express. Hewitt is the author of 16 books, including the authorized biography of The Jam, "A Beat Concerto;" "The Soul Stylists" (co-written with Paul Weller,) and "Paul Weller: The Changing Man." Hewitt writes in his letter that Weller gave him the shirt in the late 1990's when he "was having a clear out of his clothes." The shirt, with a flowery pattern, is in beautiful condition. Included is Paolo Hewitt's letter of provenance, and our lifetime guarantee of authenticity. A great opportunity to own a Paul Weller item with impeccable provenance.
