Pink Floyd, Etc. – 14 Hour Technicolor Dream Concert Poster
An original poster for the legendary "14 Hour Technicolor Dream" concert in London on April 29, 1967. This multi artist event, featuring many poets, artists and musicians, is referred to in Wikipedia as "one of the most infamous acid freak outs ever to take place in London." Performers included Syd Barrett & Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, Pete Townsend of The Who, The Pretty Things, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, The Creation, The Move, Social Deviants (The Deviants), Alexis Korner, Graham Bond, Denny Laine, Savoy Brown, John Fahey, The Purple Gang, The Flies, Savoy Brown, Yoko Ono (she snipped the clothes off a girl, onstage) and many many more. John Lennon was in attendance as well. UK website ukrockfestivals.com says it was "the closest London ever got to duplicating the infamous Acid Tests that Ken Kesey & the Merry Pranksters held in California in the mid-60's…whether you call the 14 Hour Dream a happening, be-in, gathering or freak out (and from what I hear a good portion of the audience did have the opportunity to imbibe of the psychedelic sacraments if they knew where to go,) the opportunity for the group mind meld, the all out weird craziness that took place in the acid thests WAS there…" (see more at http://www.ukrockfestivals.com/14-hour-tech-dream-menu.html ). This is an extremely rare poster, and is in the very collectible Osiris series. The artwork is by well known UK artist Mike McInnerney, who is best known for the artwork for The Who's album TOMMY. These posters were silkscreened and as a result, they are all different–this one is a particularly nice one, with an unusual and bright color split. It measures 19 7/8" x 29 5/8" and is in excellent condition (there is a light bit of crinkling in the top right corner, a tiny 1/8" edge tear bottom right, and a miniscule bit missing in the top right corner–about 1/2 the size of a match head.) Overall beautiful. An extremely desirable psychedelic poster for a groundbreaking event ! SOLD
