Pink Floyd – Syd Barrett – 1967 Concert Contract
A contract for a concert by The Pink Floyd (with Syd Barrett) to appear at the Top Rank, Brighton, England on October 6, 1967. An internet search reveals this was the 'Miss Teenage Brighton' contest, taking place only two months after the release of their groundbreaking debut album, 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.' The contract calls for the Floyd to receive 300 British Pounds in exchange for 'two spots of 30 minutes each between 8:30 and 1 am' and notes 'Pink Floyd to present complete sound and light show for which they are known.' The contract is signed by Floyd manager Andrew King on behalf of Blackhill Enterprises, their management company. This is one of a very few Barrett-era Floyd contracts we've seen, and for what was clearly an unusual show. In excellent condition; with mailing folds and a small staple tear in the top left corner. 8' x 13'.
