Prince – #38/300 White Vinyl Promotional “Black Album” With Warner Bros/Jeff Gold COA
An ultra rare, unplayed promotional White Vinyl copy of Prince’s Black Album — one of only 300 made by Warner Bros. Records.
These highly sought after rarities were pressed in 1994, when Prince finally gave Warner Bros Records permission to release the Black Album. Each copy was gold stamped with a number from 1 to 300; this example is number 038. Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold, while a senior executive at Warner Bros., originally commissioned these rare pressings, and this unplayed example is his last extra copy. (Some years after the 1994 release, some copies rejected by Warner Brothers were found in a pressing plant warehouse and sold with generic covers; but this is an absolutely authentic original example with impeccable provenance).
The disc is in Mint condition, and the original white cover is in Near Mint condition, with a tiny ding to the bottom right corner. The catalog number and Warner Bros information on the spine, printed in faint peach ink, is faded but still visible.
A letter of authenticity from Jeff Gold on his former Warner Bros. Records stationery is included. A rare opportunity to obtain a truly scarce record.
