Prince – ‘Graffiti Bridge’ RIAA Gold Record Award / Presented to Warner Bros. Exec Who Signed Prince
An original RIAA Gold Record Award for Prince’s Album Graffiti Bridge presented to Russ Thyret (1944-2021), the former Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Records, and the executive responsible for signing Prince to the label.
In 1976, while head of promotion for Warner Bros., Thyret heard Prince’s demo tape, and immediately recognized that the unknown artist had enormous potential. After signing Prince, the two worked closely together for many years.
Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold is a former Executive Vice President/General Manager of Warner Bros., and worked closely with both Prince and Russ Thyret, and obtained this directly from Thyret’s estate.
An extraordinary Prince collectible from the collection of the Warner Bros. executive who signed him to his first recording contract.
With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee, signed by Jeff Gold
In mint unused condition, in its original shipping box and plastic wrap. 17″ x 21″.
Note: there are a vast number of fake or reproduction RIAA awards, especially ones made to seem they were awarded to Prince or Warner Bros. This one is absolutely genuine, and comes directly from the estate of the first record executive to recognize Prince’s enormous talent.
