Prince – Personally Owned & Worn Custom-Made High-Heeled Boots

A pair of custom-made high-heeled boots, owned and worn by Prince during the 1990’s.

These shoes have a blue linen exterior and black leather interior, with gold metal “love symbol” zipper pulls.  The rubber soles are marked Translite, and the heels are reinforced with metal brackets to prevent them from breaking during Prince’s exuberant stage performances.  Each has a label reading “Custom Made by Willie’s of Hollywood”; Willie’s was owned by master Hollywood shoemaker Willie Rivera, who made shoes for many stars including Fred Astaire, Charlton Heston, Lily Tomlin, Raquel Welch and Johnny Depp, as well as Prince.

These shoes were obtained from a former Paisley Park employee, and are in overall excellent condition, with general wear including scuffs and a few tiny tears in the fabric from wear.  While it’s impossible to determine exactly when Prince wore these shoes, many photographs show him wearing identical shoes, in similar colors.

Recordmecca owner Jeff Gold is a former Executive Vice President/General Manager of Warner Bros. Records, who worked closely with Prince during the 1990’s, and art directed numerous album covers for him, including Diamonds & Pearls, Love Symbol and The Hits/The B-Sides. Gold’s account of working with Prince can be seen here.

In September 2017 a similar pair of Prince’s shoes sold at auction for more than $75,000.

Included is a letter of authenticity from Jeff Gold with Recordmecca’s lifetime guarantee. A museum quality Prince collectible with superb provenance.
