An extremely rare original RIAA Gold Record Award for Prince’s breakthrough single “Purple Rain”, presented by Prince to Don Thorin, cinematographer of the film Purple Rain.  The late Thorin was a noted director of photography who in addition to “Purple Rain” shot films including An Officer and a Gentlemen, The Golden Child, Scent of a Woman and many others.

Thorin gave this completely original award to a close friend, whom we obtained it from.  In excellent condition, with minor scuffing to the plexiglass on front.  While the internet abounds with fake RIAA awards, this one comes with impeccable provenance and Recordmecca’s lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
