Prince – Record Award From Warner Bros For Prince & The New Power Generation

An original RIAA Platinum Record Award for Prince’s 1992 album known as Love SymbolThe album was a worldwide Top 10 hit, and included the hit singles “7,” “My Name is Prince,” and “Sexy MF.”

This award was presented to Russ Thyret (1944-2021), the former Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Records, and the executive responsible for signing Prince to the label.  In 1976, while head of promotion for Warner Bros., Thyret heard Prince’s demo tape, and immediately recognized that the unknown artist had enormous potential.  After signing Prince, the two worked closely together for many years.

Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold is a former Executive Vice President/General Manager of Warner Bros., and art directed the album cover for Love Symbol.  He worked closely with both Prince and Russ Thyret, and obtained this directly from Thyret’s estate.

An extraordinary Prince collectible from the collection of the Warner Bros. executive who signed him to his first recording contract.

In near mint condition, with a tiny manufacturing ding to the top of the plastic frame, and one or two barely visible frame scuffs.

With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee noting the extraordinary provenance, signed by Jeff Gold
