Prince – Unique 1984 Stereo Review ‘Purple Rain’ Record of the Year Award / From collection of W.Bros. Exec who signed him

A one-of-a-kind Stereo Review ‘Record of the Year Award’ for Prince and the Revolution’s Purple Rain, presented in 1884 to Prince’s record label, Warner Bros. Records.  Stereo review was at the time, as the award says, “the world’s most widely read music and records magazine”.  This award was presented “by the staff and critics of Stereo Review” to Warner Bros. to commemorate the incredible success and reviews of Prince’s greatest success.

We obtained this award from the estate of Russ Thyret (1944-2021), the former Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros Records, who signed Prince to the label.  Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold is a former Executive Vice President/General Manager of Warner Bros. and worked closely with Thyret and Prince. The included letter of authenticity will note this album’s extraordinary provenance.

A unique and impressive collectible from Prince’s most important era.  8″ x 10″.

With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity, signed by Jeff Gold, who worked closely with Prince.
