Ramones – 1975 CBGB Handbill and Earliest Press Kit

A handbill advertising the Ramones at CBGB, June 5-8, 1975, as a part of what may be their first-ever press kit.  These were some of the earliest Ramones shows, at their home base and launching pad–with  Talking Heads opening.  This three page press kit features the original handbill stapled to two pages of reprints of their earliest live reviews; these document the formative days of the still-unnamed punk scene.  James Wolcott writes in the Village Voice piece “Loud, hard and relentless, the Ramones are pagan-cult rockers whose sole god is the inviolable Chord.  They function totally as a unit–I’ve seen 10 sets and have yet to hear a solo…”  The Ramones wouldn’t enter the studio to record their first album for another 8 months.  We’ve never seen another example of this rare artifact.   8 1/2″ x 11″ in overall very good condition, with some light foxing
