A rare 1977 vintage Bob Gruen photograph of the Ramones at their early home base, CBGB, from the collection of the group’s original manager Danny Fields.

This rare photograph, printed near the time it was taken, shows the interior of the famed club in detail, with hanging beer signs, flowers over the bar overhang on the right, on the left the sign for the notorious CBGB bathroom. On the back is Bob Gruen’s copyright stamp.

Noted for his photographs of John Lennon, The Clash, the Sex Pistols and many others, Bob Gruen captured the New York Scene during the 1970’s perhaps more than any other photographer.   With Gruen’s stamped photo credit and 1977 copyright stamp on the back.

We acquired this directly from former Ramones and Stooges manager Danny Fields, also known for signing the Stooges and MC5 to Elektra Records.
