Ramones – Rare 1977 ABC/Sire Debut Album Promotional Poster & Tour Snipe
An exceptionally rare US promotional poster and tour snipe for the Ramones’ debut album, made by Sire Records then distributor, ABC Records.
The Ramones self-titled debut was released by Sire/ABC in August 1976. By mid 1977, Sire had changed distribution to Warner Bros Records, and the album was reissued by Warners in 1978. This scarce poster, the first we’ve seen from the original release, has a perforated blank space at the bottom, so tour dates could be written in. It reproduces the Ramones debut album cover, one of the most iconic of the era, designed by Arturo Vega, based on a photograph by Roberta Bayley originally shot for Punk Magazine.
In excellent condition, archivally linen backed, with barely noticeable single horizontal and vertical folds, and very light foxing to the white strip at the bottom.
