Ray Charles – 1963 St.Louis Boxing-Style Cardboard Concert Poster
A rare boxing-style concert poster advertising a March, 1963 concert by Ray Charles “and his Augmented Orchestra plus the Singing Raelets” at the Kiel Opera House in St. Louis. Billed as “A Salute to Genius…In Concert” this stuunning poster notes Charles will be “Playing his hit records In Person!” and mentions “Georgia”, “What I’d Say”, “Ruby”, “I Can’t Stop Loving You” and “Born To Lose”.
Printed by the legendary Colby Posters, this cardboard poster is in overall fine condition with some light aging. A union stamp appears below the word “Raelets”. The only example we’ve seen of this museum quality rarity.
