Four original photographs of the members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, taken by noted filmmaker Gus Van Sant for their ‘Blood Sugar Sex Magik’ album cover. In 1991 Van Sant was commissioned by the Chili Peppers to create artwork for their first album for Warner Bros. Records. The album cover incorporated Van Sant’s photographs of Flea, Anthony Kiedis, Chad Smith and John Frusciante arranged around artwork by a tattoo artist. These are 4 alternate images by Van Sant, not used for the cover. We obtained these from Louie Mathieu, the former Chili Peppers road manager and longtime employee. In mint condition, each 8′ x 10′.
