Red Hot Chili Peppers – Anthony Kiedis Owned & Worn Leather Motorcycle Jacket (Ex-Road Manager’s Collection)
A heavily worn black leather motorcycle jacket, owned and worn by Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. We acquired this from former Chili Peppers road manager Louie Mathieu, who explains in his accompanying letter of authenticity-
I worked for the Red Hot Chili Peppers from 1986-2004 in various capacities, eventually serving as their Road Manager. Anthony and I lived together around ’97 and he gave this jacket to me when we were riding around on his bike when his car was in the shop. [The] jacket is probably worn around the mid to late 80’s to the best of my recollection. This is from my personal collection. [Signed Louie Mathieu].
This vintage jacket by Robert Richardson is size 46, and measures 22″ armpit to armpit, and 28″ from the bottom to the top of the collar. It has an ‘alpaca pile’ liner, and is heavily worn and appears old. The zipper needs lubrication and has pulled apart from the side a few inches on one side, there is a 1/2″ inch hole in the front that appears to have been cauterized (burned) to prevent further tearing. It’s missing one gold toned pocket button, the right shoulder seam has pulled apart and is repaired with a safety pin. Likewise, the right arm seam has pulled apart for about 5 1/2″. All of these are easily repairable, but we have left them in the original ‘punk rock’ condition it was worn in by Kiedis.
A great extensively worn artifact from the early days of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. With Louie Mathieu’s letter of authenticity, and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
