Robert Johnson – 1961 1st Press “King of the Delta Blues Singers” LP with 6-Eye Labels

An very clean 1961 first pressing of Robert Johnson’s King of the Delta Blues Singers, on Columbia Records with the earliest ‘6-eye” labels.

This album, compiled by producer Frank Driggs, was famously given by producer John Hammond to Bob Dylan, who it influenced deeply–as it did Keith Richards, and many more stars of the 60’s. The disc is in Near Mint/EX+ condition and sounds great.  The heavyweight first pressing cover is in VG++ condition, with some very minor wear to the front, and a small bit of missing paper at the bottom center border. The original early 60s Columbia innersleeve is included, along with a copy of a 1961 Frank Driggs memo regarding the album.

A very nice copy of an essential blues album.
