Rolling Stones – 1964 ‘4th National Jazz & Blues Festival’ Handbill (Also: Yardbirds with Clapton, Graham Bond with Bruce & Baker, Baldry with Rod Stewart, etc.)

A rare 1964 handbill advertising ‘Rhythm & Blues, Jazz and Gospel’ at the all-star 4th National Jazz & Blues Festival at Richmond, Surrey, England.

This first night of this three-day festival was headlined by the Rolling Stones–the first time they’d ever headlined a festival.  Other acts on this incredible bill include The Yardbirds (with Eric Clapton), the Graham Bond Group (with the other two members that join Clapton in Cream, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker), Manfred Mann, Long John Baldry and the Hoochie Coochie Men (with Rod Stewart), Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, blues giants Memphis Slim, Jimmy Witherspoon and Mose Allison, and British jazz giants Ronnie Scott, Tubby Hayes, Dick Morrissey, Kenny Ball and Chris Barber.

The two-sided handbill is in virtually mint condition, with the ticket order form attached.  5 3/8″ x 8 3/8″.  The only example we’ve had.
