Rolling Stones – 1972 Winterland First Printing Concert Poster

A virtually mint condition first-printing concert poster, advertising two shows by the Rolling Stones, at San Francisco’s Winterland Auditorium, June 6 & 8, 1972.  This was the Stones at their absolute peak, and this David Singer-designed poster has become a sought-after classic.  The poster is also the 289th and final one in the numbered Bill Graham Fillmore series.  This very desirable first printing is identified by the white line along the bottom left edge of the upper die.  This example is in extraordinary near mint condition, with only one tiny pinhole (barely visible) in each of the top corners and the bottom right corner.  We had an expert paper conservator flatten a tiny edge crease on the left side, which is now invisible.  There is a tiny brown stain on the back, about the size of a small fingerprint.  By far the nicest example we’ve seen; this will frame mint. 22 1/4″ x 27 3/4″.
