Ron Wood’s own acetate of the Stones’ “Some Girls” album, with slightly different versions of some songs, given by Wood to close friend Alan Pariser.

Pariser was the original promoter of the Monterey Pop Festival, managed Delaney & Bonnie among others, and was a close associate of Ringo Starr, Ron Wood and many others (he is mentioned in Wood’s book “Ronnie: The Autobiography.”)  This acetate, with “Ron” written on the front, was given by Wood to Pariser, as noted in the letter of authenticity from Pariser’s archivist.

The acetate, in EX+ condition, was cut at Sterling Sound Studios in New York, on April 5, 1978 (the album was released June 9, 1978.) The labels list alternate titles for two songs; “Imagination” for “Just My Imagination” and “Walk Before I Run” for “Before They Make Me Run.

On the front cover, two songs are listed: “Miss You” and “Lies (vari speed-too fast.)” Both of these are approximately two seconds shorter than on the final album, and appear to have been slowed down a tiny bit for the released album in  the studio using vari speed, a piece of studio equipment that alters the speed of a song.
