Roxy Music (with Eno) & Atomic Rooster – 1972 BBC “In Concert” Transcription Disc Live LP
A very rare 1972 BBC Transcription Disc, with live in concert performances by Roxy Music (the original lineup with Eno) and Atomic Rooster. Both bands were recorded by the BBC at the Paris Theatre in London.
The Roxy Music side features primarily songs from their debut album, along with their debut single, which presenter Bob Harris mentions has just been released (Bogus Man Pt. 2/Sea Breezes/Virginia Plain/Chance Meeting/Re-Make, Re-Model). The Atomic Rooster side (with Chris Farlowe on vocals) features songs from their 1972 album Made In England, and others (Breakthrough/Stand By Me/People You Can’t Trust/All in Satan’s Name/Devil’s Answer).
BBC Transcription Discs were made in extremely limited numbers–perhaps 50 only–and sent to UK and Commonwealth radio stations, which played them once, and then returned them to the BBC. Consequently they are extremely rare and sought after. In Near Mint condition, with original tan sleeve and Cue Sheet (tiny notation modifying expiration date on labels.)
