Seeds, West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band – 1966 Freak-Off concert poster
The only known copy of a rare 1966 Los Angeles psychedelic concert poster advertising the "Monster Halloween Freak-Off" featuring The Seeds, The West Coast Pop-Art Experimental Band, Davie Allen & The Arrows, The Fabs, and Rain; promoted by LA radio station KRLA. Hyped on the poster as an "Optical Psychedelic Nerve Spasm" the audience was promised "7 far-out bands in orbit in a freakathon," and was invited to "join St. Vito's crusade to freak-off the world. Vito, as you may know, led a dance troup in 60's LA and was a Frank Zappa and the Mothers associate. Great artwork featuring images of Wolfman, Frankenstein and The Mummy. Over the years, a few handbills promoting this show have surfaced, but this is the only poster. 17" x 22," in mint condition, on thick yellow stock. See the sister poster to this show, the "Freak Out" elsewhere on the site.
