Sex Pistols – 1977 UK ‘God Save The Queen’ Promotional Poster
A beautiful (and large) 1977 UK Virgin Records promotional poster advertising the Sex Pistols second single, “God Save The Queen.”
Pistols art director Jamie Reid appropriated photographer Cecil Beaton’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth, covering her face with his trademark “ransom note” lettering for this, arguably the best-known image he created for the band. This is an genuine first printing made by Virgin Records in 1977 for use in UK record stores (the poster has been reprinted a number of times since.)
This example is in excellent condition and displays beautifully. A few very small areas have had the color touched up, and the poster had been archivally linen backed for flattening and preservation. As nice an example as you could hope to find.
