Sex Pistols – Huge 1977 UK ‘Pretty Vacant’ Promotional Poster
A beautiful (and large) 1977 UK Virgin Records promotional poster advertising the Sex Pistols third single, “Pretty Vacant.”
Pistols art director Jamie Reid appropriated the Boredom/Nowhere buses image from a 1973 pamphlet by the San Francisco Situationalist group Point-Blank, and a similar image, with white buses and a black background, appears on the back cover of the “Pretty Vacant” picture sleeve.
This is an genuine first printing made by Virgin Records in 1977 for use in UK record stores; it’s in excellent condition and displays beautifully. A few very small areas have had the black ink touched up, and the poster had been archivally linen backed for flattening and preservation. There are a few very small and barely noticeable closed edge tears to the bottom, and an incidental stain bottom center. This will frame beautifully.
With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity. 28 1/3″ x 39 1/4″.
