Soft Machine – Original BBC Pop Spectacular Transcription Disc
An scarce Mint Condition ORIGINAL BBC Transcription Disc of “Soft Machine and Heavy Friends” recorded live at London’s Paris Theatre on March 11, 1971. In this concert Soft Machine were joined by the Elton Dean Quintet, Mark Charig, Roy Babbington, Mike Ratlidge, and Ronnie Scott. These were made in extremely limited numbers–perhaps 50 only–and sent to UK and Commonwealth radio stations, which usually played them once. Consequently they are extremely rare and sought after. This is in beautiful mint condition, and we’d guess it has been played a few times at most (some spindle marks are the only sign of any play.) Housed in the original generic sleeve this unfortunately it no longer has the “cue sheet.” Superb fidelity, courtesy of the BBC’s expert engineers. Tracks include Blind Badger/Neo Caliban Grides/Out Bloody Rageous/Eamonn Andrews/All White/Kings And Queens/Teeth/Pigling Bland/10:30 Returns To The Bedroom.”
