A superb mono first pressing of Sonny Rollins’ 1957 album The Sound of Sonny, on Riverside Records.

We’d guess the Mint to Near Mint disc, with white deep groove labels, has been played no more than once or twice.  The playing surface is unblemished save for one short, extremely minor superficial scuff, that may have come from handling at the pressing plant.  There is a single barely noticeable spindle trail on one label.  The thick, front-laminated cover is in Near Mint- condition.

We can’t imagine finding a nicer example of this classic, with Rollins backed by Sonny Clark, Percy Heath, Paul Chambers, and Roy Haynes.
