The Beach Boys – Signed 1967 Legal Document
A 1967 legal document signed by Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson and Mike Love of the Beach Boys. These four constituted the membership of the Beach Boys corporation (Al Jardine was never included, thanks to Murray Wilson) and here they waive their legal right to participate in a March 30, 1967 meeting of The Beach Boys International Fan Club corporation. This was a particularly interesting time for the band–in January Brian had missed delivering Capitol Records the "Smile" album, Carl refused to be drafted claming conscientious objector status, and in March the Beach Boys sued Capitol for unpayed back royalties (the suit was later dropped, one of the terms being Capitol's agreement to distribute their Brother Records.) In April Brian was appointed to the board of Directors of the Monterey Pop Festival, and appeared on the Leonard Bernstein CBS TV Special, performing "Surf's Up" solo. And on May 2 their publicist, Derek Taylor, announced the abandonment of "Smile." In light of all this, one can see how this meeting wasn't a priority for them ! This is the first Beach Boys legal document we've ever had , and it's a beauty–each signature is an absolute "10," and the page is in perfect condition, having been preserved in a book of documents for 40 years. As with everything we offer, guaranteed authentic with no time limit.
