The Beatles – 1st State Stereo Butcher Cover With Shrink Wrap
A stunning virtually mint 1st state Stereo "Butcher Cover" with full shrink wrap. The rarest of the rare, the stereo (much much rarer than the mono) 1st state Butcher is extremely sought-after and this one is as good as it gets. The cover is in near perfect condition, with full shrink wrap; with the only minor distractions being 1/4" areas of the spine beginning to split at the top and bottom mouth and a barely perceptible bit of ageing on the back cover near the mouth, from exposure to air. This is a #2 cover fabricated at the Capitol Records plant in Scranton, PA. Perry Cox, noted Beatles expert and author of "The Official Beatles Price Guide" has seen this album and told me that #2 Butchers are "Much scarcer than the 5s….Thinner too and more fragile. Semi glossy paper on the back and seams that split very easy. 5's are much more durable, so finding a clean 2 is tough for both reasons..rarity, and preservation." Also included is Perry Cox's letter of authenticity. If you are looking for a beautiful Butcher cover album, this is it.
