The Beatles – BBC Transcription Service Beatles At The Beeb 2 LP Set
A rare 1982 BBC Transcription Service 2 LP set titled "Beatles at the Beeb" featuring 40 at the time unreleased live Beatles performances, recorded for the BBC. Beginning in the 1960's, the best of Britian's pop and rock bands were invited by the BBC to record in-studio and live performances to be broadcast. The Beatles recorded 88 songs during the 3 years from 1963-1966 for the BBC, and this double album compiles the best of those performances, alongside interviews with the Beatles and others involved in these broadcasts, including the producers of the various shows they performed on ("Pop Go The Beatles," "Saturday Club," etc.) Offered here are the original BBC-produced ultra high quality discs, made in extremely limited quantities in 1988–perhaps only 50 sets–and sent to UK and Commonwealth radio stations, who generally played them only once. Many of these songs were later released on the Beatles "Live on the BBC" album, but this set includes songs not included there including versions of "This Boy," "And I Love Her," "Please Mr. Postman," "Do You Want To Know A Secret," and "Lend Me Your Comb;" as well as the aforementioned interviews. Also included is the original 4 page script. This is the first example of this very rare set we've had the pleasure to acquire, and it's in superb Mint to Near Mint condition. With the original BBC sleeves. SOLD
