The Beatles – Beautiful UK Apple 1st Press Stereo “White Album” LP, With All Inserts (Top Loader)
A beautiful UK first pressing of The Beatles’ self-titled 1968 double album, aka The White Album, on Apple Records.
The earliest “top loader” sleeve, No. 0327271, is in Near Mint to EX+ condition with very light wear–it’s very unusual to find one in this fine condition. Disc 1 is visually NM, but there are a number of spindle marks, so we’ll grade it EX+ (stampers: 1/5/GGP and 1/3/GRM). Disc 2 is in NM-/EX+ condition, with a very light needle mark on side two that makes a barely audible tick through part of “Revolution 9” (stampers 1/2/GMR and 2/1/GDL). Overall the album sounds great throughout. The labels are the second variation, with “An EMI Recording” and “Sold in the UK…” on all sides. A slightly earlier pressing mistakenly ommitted the “EMI”credit.
Included are the four individual portraits and a white cover sheet, all mint, the proper UK poster, NM-, and the two original black innersleeves, EX and VG+. A very clean original pressing of a highly sought after–and essential–album. [While the scans of the album cover vary in color, it is unfaded and clean; the close up of the number is the most accurate.]
