The Beatles – Decca Contract Pressing With The Beatles LP
A very rare UK contract pressing of the Beatles second album, "With The Beatles," manufactured by Decca Records. In 1963, sales of the first two Beatles albums took off at such a pace that EMI couldn't keep up with demand. The hired out competitor Decca Records to press a limited amount of records for a few weeks in an effort to fill orders and keep the album in the charts. Decca pressings are identified by the "deep groove" label, with a circular indentation running about half an inch from the outside edge of the label. This is a 1963 pressing with the Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve, and the label copy with the "Recording First Published 1963" and without "Sold In The UK…" It is the 2nd label variation with "Money" credited to "Dominion.Belinda (Ldn) Ltd (the Decca pressings all had this label.) The all important labels here are near mint, and the record is in NM–/VG++ condition. The flipback cover is near mint- and extremely clean as well. A very rare Decca pressed Beatles LP.
